    Hello-

I have a question; do emerald crabs eat coral? specifically I have a new cats paw frag that he is perching in and I cant tell if its being picked at.

also The coral is currently in the sand bed about 2 feet below my 150 watt MH and it
appears to be bleaching a bit? Is this too much light for a cats paw?

The tank I bought it from was a 225 with 400 watts of MH like 8 inches above the tank?

It is not getting enough light and flow move it up to the top half or higher. The emerald crab should do no harm. I have had them do it to the one in my avatar. It is looking for algae and safety.

If it's 24" below a 150w MH light, it is not getting enough light, the PAR levels that far down on any 150w MH will be very low, definitely not enough to sustain an sps coral.

MIne loved being 6" below the surface under VHO's and LOTS of flow. the frag of it I have in my new tank is 12-14" blow the 250 halides and in a good flow area. Looks good. if you give it lots of low and light, that is a VERY fast grower. I got 1-2" of growth per year on mine.
