    Hi all -
With the new coral boards I thought it would be great to have a sticky post called 'Which board do I post my coral question on?'

Coral classifications are certainly not my strong-suit so Steve started this list:

    Soft corals

    Leather corals
    toadstool corals
    Elephant ears
    Mouse ear corals
    Cabbage corals
    Xenia
    Anthellia
    Zoanthids
    Mushrooms
    GSP
    yellow polyps

    LPS corals

    Torch
    Frogspawn
    Elegance
    Hammer
    Candy Cane
    Duncans
    Brain corals
    Wellso
    Fungia
    Plate corals
    Chalice
    Acans
    Blasto's
    Gonipora
    Alveapora

    SPS corals

    Acropora
    Montipora
    Birdsnest

    NPS

    ----

Please add any common corals that may be missing here (Or correct as this was a 5am Steve post :) )
if you can and after some polish I will stick this to help others ... and me!
    Thank you!

I've seen Dendro's listed as NPS on a few sites, and Sympodium listed as LPS on multiples as well.

I believe a coral can be both Non-photosynthetic and a LPS.

For NPS, I would be looking more at

    Chili corals
    Some of the Gorgonians
Sea Squirts ( although I do not consider them a coral)
    All the dendrophyllias

Not really. An Azoox coral/NPS while may fall into that made up (LPS) category because it's a "large polyp", but traditionally an LPS has always been photosynthetic.
