Does anyone know if Maracyn is reef safe? It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle. I've read both 'yes' and 'no' on the internet. So I'm confused.

Also, in the QT tank can I use Rid Fungus and Maracyn together?

    Opinions, please!!

All it says is each packet contains 200mg erythromycin activity.

You may want to check the ingredients on Wikipedia for chemical structure, as many compounds containing copper won't say it directly in the name. You might also want to research each ingredient in the same manner, as some that don't have copper can still hurt inverts.

erithromiacin is an antibacterial, used in people for strep throat. BAD idea.

I dunno about using any 2 chemicals together, I have no idea what kinds of reactions there will be. You can definitely use it in the QT, just be prepared for water changes, as you won't have any bacteria eating ammonia at all when you use maracyn.

Reading the maracyn packet, it says that maracyn is non-toxic to inverts. I dunno what that means really.
