    Hi, I have discovered these in my tank and I was wondering what they could be. The pictures are of two different things, so please click both. Thanks !

    i agree with luna. you will want to get rid of them.

    So both of them are aiptasia, just different kinds? Thanks for the quick reply !

    I'm not sure sure that they're aiptasia. When the animal in the first picture "retreats", is there a stony looking base left? As for the second picture, I'm thinking those are hydroids.

    i can not tell from the pics.. looks like aptasia as well to me.
    The first one has a little more color/sheen.

    I'm thinking that it could be a non-photosynthetic dendro which are often mistaken for aiptasia.

    The first picture, if it does have a hard base its probably a brown cup coral, if its base isn't hard then it is probably an aiptasia. The second picture definitely looks like hydoid polyps to me, Look very similar to y upside down jellyfish polyps.

    I agree here not to sure of the first pic is aiptasia but second deff is hydroids... Get rid of thoes fast cause they will grow fast and sting other corals..
