Can someone tell me what kind of algae that is black and hairy looking? Is it a bad type? It is growing on a small section of a rock and looks like some type of hair algae? My Snails and blenny wont eat it.

gelidiopsis sp without a pic. sounds about right, it is black, creeps on the rock ans is wirey. Lot of species it could encompass, but they tend to have very dark pigmentation
