my clown also died after i did a water change last week. was swimming around fine the night before and then when i got home the next say my cleaner shrimp was munching on him. i wonder if the same thing happened to our fish? i though since it died shortly after a water change that had something to do with it.

Nahh it definitely wasn't fresh water. I'm worried about my other fish now.. After doing a little more research, it COULD be brooklynella.. Should I try to do a freshwater dip with the exisiting clown? He doesn't show any symptoms right now.. But I intend to keep it that way. Ha

    No I would not.

It does not effectively kill it, just provides some relief for a suffering fish.

It may kill off some parasites on the fish, but once your put it back in the tank it is a mot point.

just supplement the diet best you can, and research QT set up if you decide to go that route.

How would you suggest I supplement the diet Corailline? I'll DEFINITELY looking into a QT. I don't want this to happen ever again.

Selcon or garlic. Moderator, Inwall75 (Curt) knows of a good product but I can not remember the name. If I remember the name I will let you know.

I hope your other clown stays healthy and happy.

I had them issue just popped up one day ... I was freaking out it was just on one fish
then the other clown started to show spots I crushed up some garlic and soaked some flake food in the juice and feed them that for a few days and they started looking better each day
Don't do fresh water dip it will stress them out more

get some garlic extreme if you can and at first sign soak some flake or pellet food and feed them
I now feed with garlic one a week to help prevent

Funny that you hear how hardy clowns are huh ? there not at all !!

I'll definitely check out some of that garlic stuff tmrw. So now my second clown is showing symptoms.. has a white spot right behind his 2nd stripe. So, now i'm thinking it could be ick. UGH. I have no idea what to do. This is frustrating. I hope I don't lose him..
