    I have SundialT5HOUVL

(only mine is the 48" one)

Anyway, there are two built in timers (one plug). One timer controls daylights and the other controls actinics/fans.

My problem is that the actinic timer will turn ON the lights but it will not turn them OFF. I can hear it kind of click in there like it's trying to do it, but it doesn't.

    The daylight timer works fine.

Anyone have any ideas of what kind of work I can do on this to fix it?

So you mean it's not engaging, like when the timer goes around to "off"?

I have the same light and had the same problem. I talked to current USA and they do not offer replacement timers. So I had to tAke the light apart to get the timer out. I found that there was all kinds of salt under the pins. I took apart the timer (carefully) and cleaned, shaved and lubed it and it's been dine for the last 6 months. I cannot stress the importance of being careful taking the timer apart. A lot of gears and small pieces that are loose. Great light. ****ty timers

I will try to find time to do these suggestions today. Particularly the cleaning thing - that sounds most likely to be my issue.

Thanks for the link too - I've contacted them, but I, too, see no replacement timers (that's beyond lame).

From now on, when asked my opinion on fixtures, I am against all in one units (particularly with no replacement parts)... It would be far easier to just buy a new timer from Walgreens for 5 bucks... Oh well, lesson learned.

I was against all in ones but I was told all the timers and things were replaceable. I'm a month away from cannibalizing the light anyway as I'm upgrading to a 150g my tank and adding metal halides.

Got a response from current usa:

Thanks for writing. The timer will need to be replaced. Please send us your address and we can send one of these out to you.

    Thanks,

i have the same fixture. no problems with it yet.

why not just turn the bad switch to always on and use a timer on the plug?

I thought about doing this. The problem is the plug controls both timers. So if the plug is on a timer that has it off, the day light timer won't be running. I don't see how I could set it so that my cycle would be consistent.
