Help With My Reef Tank Plz

    Is this lighting to strong for pom pom xenia? I have a 55gal tank with 2 250w metal halides 2 t5s 2 actenics. now i have a diffrent tipe of xenia in my tank it duz fine. i just got him today at 5:00 and i got home and i poot the new xenia in i turned my light's off at 8:00 pm he never opened up in the 3 hour time. my light's are lifted bye a chain about a foot away from my tank i have uther coral like frog spawn sun polyps zoas kenya tree and they all act fine. am i over reacting is he just adjusting to my lighting? and my calcium is low. my parameters are.

    Temprature 83-85 is my temp to high?

    Nitrates 0

    PH 8.8

    Ammonia 0

    Calcium 380

    Your xenia will do great. Sometimes it just takes more time for them to open up.

    77-83 is where it *should* be, but there's always wiggle room - you find what works best for you and stick with it. You might be considered slightly high but its "ok"....no worries. I agree with the other responses, your Xenia will respond nicely for you shortly.

    is your ph always this high? i would bet that the LFS where the coral came from is not that high. probably needs more time to adjust. seems to me your calcium is a tad on the low side as well. might want to bump up to 420. you have alot of calcium consumption going on in your tank might need to increase your suppliment IMO.

    i got a calcium supplament i added a ap witch is for 50 gallons mine is a 55 im checking m ycalcium later today i checked it agiain today its now 400
