    Hello everyone,

I need help with a new fish addition. I was wanting some type of goby or bottom dwelling fish. I have a deep sand bed so I don't want a sand sifter or anything that likes to eat infauna. I currently have an o. clown (his clown buddy died last week when the tank was hit with ick), blue hippo, yellow tang, sailfin, fire shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp, and black spine urchin.

Any advice? I had a diamond goby before I new they would eat all my infauna. Then he dug holes from one side of the tank to the other. That was cool untill all the rocks came crashing down (nightmare). Are all gobies this distructive or are there some that act like like swimming fish, but just like to have a simple burrow or something?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The yellow watchman goby is not the big of a shifter. I rarely see mine sifting. He could hardly destroy a dsb or disrupt a tank of any size.

I would say that if you have an established aquarium you should add a mandarin, mine tends to swim at the bottom alot eating copepods out of the sand and i have only seen him stir up sand a couple of times and have had him for almost a year now

I would love to get a manderine but I don't believe I have a sustainable amount of pods. I like watchmen gobies. Thanks for the input.

Depending on how large your tank is, here are some suggestions:
Blue Spot Jawfish (or other Jawfish, but bluespot is one of my favs :) )
    Watchmen goby (many colors)
    Blennies:
Starry/king starry (ehh on looks but great personality. :) )
    Lawnmower
    Midas
    Bicolor
I've had experience with moss. Great fish.

You might be able to find a scooter that eats dead food. They aren't too rare.

I had a Yel. WM Goby in my old 24g. She did sift through the sand, but not too much. She usually only sifted throught the top 1/4" of my SB so you should be ok as corailline stated above.
