i didn't quarantine him, i have never quarantined my fish., i am not saying that it is not a good idea because it is, i have just found that since 1987 iffin i have an empty tank sitting around some finned friends are gonna find their way in it, so a quarantine tank all of a sudden turns into a clown tank, or a mantis tank, or a seahorse tank. in my slightly skewed world a quarantine tank never seems to stay a quarantine tank.

I know what you mean on that one Da colts. There is no such thing as an empty tank just sitting around.

 Must admit I'm quit suprised you dont quarantine, but I can understand about the empty tank thing, nearly all of my diasters have been through NOT quarantining too keen to get my new purchase in the show tank and ended up wiping out nearly all my stock :'(,although every book I have read before starting and everyone since told me that it was a must,I thought I would get away with it,that is definately one thing I,m going to do with this tank all my new stock is going to be monitered for six to eight weeks approx, and a little hospital tank just incase I would hate the tought of having to put any kind of medication in my show tank

I don't quarintine either, but I would advise you to since you are new. I stick with certain LFS's that I can trust. It always helps to be best pals with the fish guy at the LFS.
