I bought a Octopus pro 200 skimmer today. It has a tube you raise or lower to adjust the water level was wondering if any of you had one and knew what height i should set the water to.

Well I run one of their recirc now, but had an ASM which I ran the water right below the cone. It will really depend on your tank, but think right under the cone should give you a good starting spot. Also give it time to break in and wait a good day before making adjustments.

adjust it so that the smallest bubbles are about 4-5 inches from the end of the uptube. This will make only the big flakey bubbles go into the collection cup. I have mine set this way, always have to tweek it a little more or a little less to get it perfect, but you'll get the hang of it.

What you have pictured there is a NW-200, they only make 250 and 300 pro's as far as I know. But I agree, right at the neck will be a good starting point to break in, after break in you may end up raising it into the neck a bit.

ok so putting the rising tube level with the base of the cone is where I should put it.

If you really want it to "destroy" your seaclone, you should look into the mesh mod they do on this pump. It requires maintenance because you have to re-mesh it every 3-4 months, but a good improvement.

I have a 120 version of this skimmer (looks just like the picture) and it works great. I've got it on a 55 gallon right now.
