    Hey Everyone,

Kinda feeling stupid here. I have the ACIII and do not quite understand what Ozone is. Anyone have summay explanation. Right now mine is up around 410 which is higher then normal. Just want to make sure something is not going wrong in the tank.

Any information you could give would be great.

    Thanks!

Ozone is o3 and is highly reactive at normal pressures it breaks down rapidly to give 2 oxygen molecules and a free oxygen molecule. The free oxygen molecule try to bond with pretty much anything (algae, bacteria, fungal spores etc) and oxidizes it which purifies/steralizes the water. Ozonizers which are used to create ozone are usually controlled by a redox meter/controller, the ideal redox potential when using ozone is 350-380mv. If your meter is reading higher it could be that it is out of the water slightly or if it is lower check that the probe is clean.

Your ORP reading will go down in the tank as it gets older and more disolved organics in the tank. If the tank is still young then you should have a high ORP reading. I would get some calibration fluid and check it to make sure. It comes in 400mv packages. Just open one and set the probe in there to see if it reads 400mv.
