help with red sea prizm

ok the pump spins but wont pump any water ive pulled it apart 100 damn times and it wont work even if i take it off the skimmer it just wont pull HELP!!!!!

 

When you say that the pump spins, are you talking about the impeller?

 

yes the impeller spins

 

You probably have an air leak somewhere that is preventing the vacuum needed to start the skimmer. I would check the rubber hose that attaches to the top of the inlet tube - it may be cracked or not sealing correctly (or missing)

 

thats not it i can take the whole pump off and submerge it in water and it still wont pull

 

theres a tube at the top that goes into the lid section,it has to holes one to start and pull up water which is a blank peg and the other to use once water flowing.

 

Did you fill the chamber with water to start it? Is the hose connected to the far right tube until the pump is flowing, which at that point you would switch it to the first? i have this skimmer as well and I personally dislike it, but I have never had those problems with it.
