I got 160 lbs of sand from Marco rocks to setup the new tank. I had already filled my tank with salt water and was running pumps etc. When I got the sand in, I dumped it in as I have done before. Usually a day of two of cloudiness but then settles. But this sand is a disaster. It's 6 days later and it looks as milky as it did on day one. Filter socks do nothing because the dust is so fine. The slightest touch sends the dust everywhere. I'm hoping someone has some advice for me. I NEED to take down my other tank at the other house and this hang up with the sand is making things very difficult. Thanks

you might shut off pumps and powerheads for a while to let it settle if you haven't already done so.

after it settles, you might have to point your powerheads towards the surface to keep from disturbing the sand if it is as fine as it sounds.

As sand develops the good bacteria, it gets heavier, and will not stay in suspension as long. The above posts are a good idea. Shut it all down and let it settle.

I've turned all pumps off and let it sit for 3 days and then tried the filter sock.. that didn't work because the particles are finer than the filter. I have even tried skimming it out which seemed promising but probably under powered for the mess I'm looking at..
