Help with stand doors

Hey i have a fifty five gal. tank im getting ready to set up and the problem i have is keeping my little rug rat out of the stand doors.
I have tried to put one of thoes door locks on from wal-mart but there is not enough material there to suport the actual lock does any one have any ideas i dont want to put the tank up till i get that fixed. Any input will help thanks

 

how about a latch with a lock, maybe from the inside if you dont want it on the out side

 

The problem with that is i wouldnt be able to get it unlocked because the stand is going to be up aginst the wall. I have to put it up aginst the wall so my little guy doesnt get into the sump.

 

Plastic child latch and super glue ?

 

You could also install some knobs,Ive seen plastic locks that lock the kmobs together from the outside,you can probably find these at any babies R us type of store.

or if your kid doesnt like veggies, get knobs that look like brussel sprouts.
