    Hey guys,

So my lfs is having a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale, and I'm stuck on what to add to the order.

So far I am ordering the following:

    For my predator tank:
    • Harlequin Tusk
    • Clown Grouper

The trouble I'm having is that for my reef tank, I'm planning to order a Desjardini Tang, but I want to take advantage of the 50% off, so I'm trying to find something else that is comparable in price (or maybe even a little more expensive).

    My reef tank currently has:
    • a pair of false perc clowns
    • a juvi orange shoulder tang
    • a juvi carribean blue tang
    • 3 green chromis
    • a lawnmower blenny
    • watchman goby
    • mandarin goby
    • a bangaii cardinal
    • a psuedochromis
    • rbta
    • 2 starfish (a sandsifter and a linkia)
    • 2 peppermint shrimp

I know I want to add a powder brown tang and a yellow tang later on (after I upgrade to a 180...which I hope to do in a couple of months). I also want to add a blue hippo tang, but I think I might want to wait on him too.

Any suggestions on what else I could add to the order that would be around the same price as the Desjardini Tang (he's about $60)?

Dont get the grouper and wait until you upgrade to add new fish.

Thanks. The grouper is going in a different tank and will do fine. Also, I wasn't asking if I should add more. I was asking what would be good to add (compatibility ideas). I understand from your reply that you don't think I should add anything, but I will be adding, so please refrain from saying "don't add."

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You have 12 fish in a 75 gallon tank is that correct and you want to add more?

If you are bound and determined to add more fish to an existing tank with what many people consider beyond or fully stocked already, then you are going to get responses asking why.

Normally I try to not judge others tanks when the advice is not solicited in the intent of the thread, you solicited advice and you will probably hear more of the same "upgrade".

Thanks for your reply and thanks for the spirit of your post. Certainly "why" is a reasonable question. The initial answer is the obvious one which is that the tank doesn't seem fully stocked. Probably the main reason is that the fish I currently have are very small (my female clown is still bigger than either of my tangs which are each only about one inch). With regard to tank capacity, I know that I'm pushing the controversial line of how much is too much, but my fish are all fat and happy. My thought then us that 2 more fish isn't really pushing the envelope that much (after which I do plan to stop until the upgrade). You also mentioned that the general consensus will be to upgrade, and that is the plan anyway (note that I've got a post on here looking for a large tank, and I'm faithfully checking craigslist daily to find one). Knowing that the upgrade is in progress (I already have the new skimmer and UV sterilizer), my question is what would make a good addition? My hope is that those who would tell me not to add anything will understand that I'm not considering that as advice (because that's not the question I'm asking) and just not respond to the post. Those ideas about what livestock could be added are most appreciated. :)
