    Ok so I think you guys convinced me... I'm now thinking of picking up an Eshopps PSK-100 protein skimmer and placing it in the middle section and just having the return pump in the last section all the way to the left.

    So no Cheato for now...

    Hows that sound?

    Yes housing the skimmer next to the return pump will almost certainly cause microbubbles to enter the DT.It is preferable to have a bubble trap but you may need a sponge or filter sock on the skimmer return.
