I am changing out my T5's to the 24" Tao Tronics LED lighting with dimmers.

I have read alot about acclimation when switching to these lights and the timing. I got that I should hanging this 10" above the tank but what about the acclimation schedule and then once the tank is acclimated what should I have the timers set for.

This is what I have: 45g cube with a 3" sand bed

    Lrg Zoanthid and multiple frags
    Large star polyps
    ricondea
    mushrooms
    kenya tree
    flower pot
    sea whips
    4 anemone's
2 clowns, scopas tang, fire fish, coral banded shimp, sexy shimp, peppermint shrimp, scallop, clam

I plan to add more coral!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We're not familiar with the Tao Tronics LED system. However, since they all generally work the same, we would recommend that you start low at 50% or less at your regular photo period, lets say 6-8 hours. Keep it like this for the next couple of weeks, and what you want to do is keep an eye on your corals. They will certainly be fine with less light for a long period of time (think of stormy seasons in the natural coral reefs).

If you see your corals stretching towards the light, then you may increase the intensity. If you see your corals shriveling up, then decrease the lighting. Until then, gradually increase your intensity over the next few weeks until you find what is best for your aquarium.

Thank you do much! So dim at 50% to start with!
