Help with water flow

    so i have a red sea max 250 i have put a vortech mp40 in there as well should i point the 2 built in jets at the top of the water for gas exchange then just let the mp40 do the rest i dont think my fish like the excess flow all that much what setting should i run the mp on aswell atm i have it running reef crest mode at top speed ??
