No, they are as difficult to care for. That's the point...

i was only referrin to your message because you posted a link that brought was for the mandarin, not the scooter. they dont even eat the same so it would be very misleading.

They are nice fish, but (yes, they are dragonettes... but a scooter blennie is not a MANDARIN dragonette. mandarins are alot harder to take care of and almost always die in captivity...) doesn't sound very true. I'd give it back to the fish store.

Of course they eat the same. Their diets are exactly the same LOL. Nothing misleading about it, the only thing misleading is the name "blenny". They should be treated exactly like a mandarin dragonette. For all intents and purposes (without the coloration of course) they are.

1st off they both eat copepods off rocks, they have the same diet.
2nd Mandarins do not "always die" in captivity. Many people keep them with much sucess, myself included.
3rd Scooters are not any harder to care for than mandarins and vice versa. You can both train them to eat prepared, but they are essentially the same.

I had one for nearly 2 years (till the tank burst lol) and he would eat frozen cyclopeze and bloodworms. Best of luck with getting him to eat!
