    I recently purchased about 60 lbs of live rock and discovered a tenticle hanging off of one of the pieces. It was about 8-10" long. Any idea what it is and if I need to be concerned?

    First thoughts are a brittle star. Check out this link it will assist you in ID the most common LR hitch-hikers. Did you get lucky and get an octopus?

    brittle star
    one of various types of worm
    or an octopus

    I think there are more harmless possibilities than bad ones. I wouldn't worry about it.
