ok in the next week or so I am going to buy my protein skimmer. If i could get some ideas on a good but cheap skimmer that would be very much appreciated. Also i have no idea on how to set it up. (i.e. in my sump) or how to know if it will even fit in my sump. once again thanks for all the help....

Greg, try a Coralife needlewheel or a Turboflotor skimmer. They are around $150.00 for what you need! Or you could go with a Aqua C Remora, which I am very fond of!!!

Cheap skimmers are just that. If you are going to spend money get the best you can now or you will just waste more money in the future on a better skimmer and lights. Your skimmer and lighting will be the most expensive purchases for your tank, they also happen to be the important equipment.

I have the aqua c remora and love it. It cost $200 canadian. No fussing with anything, plug and play.

Not sure what you plan on doing for flow but I would recommend, tunze, seio, or the hydor koralia.

Greg, the Remora is a hang on only I believe. The Urchin is what you will need for in sump!!! But they are both awesome IMO!!!
