My lights have been on there since Jan. 07 (14K). Does anyone think Phosban would help? It says that it helps w/ inorganic and organic phosphates. This stuff is starting to take over my tank! I am gonna try the Magnesium theory. It can't hurt, I guess. I also might get some Phosban or Rowaphos, whichever one is better. What do you think?

I do not suggest that you go willy nilly raising your mag levels without doing some research first. Supposedly, the type of magnesium that you use makes a difference and there can be some adverse affects. As much as I don't like to link to other forums, I like big mistakes even less and there is a very long thread here that documents the trials and errors of some people who have been trying this method.

Reef Central Online Community - Finally an easy solution to bryopsis!

Also, it seems that high mag levels WILL NOT work on regular hair algae so if you're not positive that what you have is bryopsis, I would not even attempt it.

Oh, and go ahead and run the phosphate sponge as it should help a bit.

I use Tropic-Marin Bio-Magnesium. If I do that, I will have to keep up w/ my water parameters. :furious3:
