    I was wondering the same thing. You said something about mature water. It's not the water that's mature but the bacteria in the live rock and substrate. How much LR and LS do you have? Tell us exactly what you have and how long you have had it.

    hi i have a rena external filter with carbon in the filter as well as other media when i picked up tank the person i bought it of off rinsed the filter carbon out since i last posted i have set up a eheim with carbon and fine cotton wool to run alongside the rena filter
