It has a sealed top. Can you fit a heater in the filtration compartment in the back?

    Hi Curt,

On the right-hand side in the back there is an open spot with a hole in the back for a wire, presumably, for the protein skimmer. I think I probably may end up having to put a protein skimmer in so where then shall I put my heater? The plot thickens!

I have the heater in the main tank in my 14g biocube. You can try in the first compartment for now until you get the skimmer. TBH the skimmers for these things arent that great anyways.

You're going to want it somewhere that has waterflow. I'm very familiar with the JBJ nano's and the solana nano's.

Hopefully someone with an Oceanic will chime in.

I also have a 14G Biocube. the safest place for it is in the main tank on the back wall.

Smashing and thanks to all for your responses. I think I shall have to put it on the back wall then. I will probably end up buying the protein skimmer in the not too distant future so I may as well be ready for that!

I had thought of a Protein Skimmer as well for my 14G. I was told by my LFS to not waste my money. The nano skimmers aren't really worth getting as they are not very effective. Water changes and filter feeders are all you really need

Thank you very much, Jason. I will do weekly water changes and see how things go. I am planning on having lots of Fiji live rock on top of live sand so hopefully that will do the trick!

If you haven't purchased the Live Sand yet. I would skip it. The Live rock will populate the sand and make it live by the time you are finished the cycle. That should save you a few bucks
