Help...........

I just had to fix our dual overflow and when I syphoned I swallowed a big gulp of water, will I be okay? Is there an easier way to do this?

 

one swallow wont kill ya... just b glad it wasn't gasoline.lol

 

You can buy syphon kits with a Squeezy,pump start feature so no need to put end of tube in your mouth

If you're healthy, you should be fine. Depending on how much you swallowed, you might get diarrhea

 

are you using a small diameter tubing, like air line diameter tubing? I use a piece thats about 3' long, and only siphon till the water just starts to flow over inside the tube, never gets close to my mouth, when water flows I stop, make sure its flowing then remove the hose by holding Utube down and pull hose out.

 

Caused me to gag and run to the bathroom but I am still alive. I used air hose but mine was really short and caught me by surprise. Thanks for all the input and I will be buying a longer air hose so next time it won't come close. My husband usually does this but he wasn't here so I had to figure it out. I got it working just wasn't a very pleasant experience.

 

must people spit it out but yea you will be ok nothing different then swallowing ocean water, maybe cleaner perhaps it will give you more incentive to keep your tank clean and not overstock.

the more dirty the tank and more overstocked the more fish pee and poop and little pods went down your throat lol

My wife did the same thing. She didnt know that she just had to get it goin real quick, so she syphoned it till she got a mouth full. I fell off my chair laughing so hard. She has never started the syphon again, but it was worth it. She is still mad at me for laughing so redicuously hard.
