Just got new emporor angel and adult clown trigger. Put in tanks last night after acclimation and did they fine. Ate good and everything. This morn angel is dead and clown trigger is dieing on the ground panting. I have a clown fish living in this tanks for 6 months and he is still just fine. What is happening?? My levels are Perfect! Kh, nitrite, nitrate , phosphate is great. Could they have not had enough oxygen on the way home (it was and hour and a half drive)

if they were doing fine after you added them to the tank it was no longer an oxygen problem in the bag. it could be an oxygen problem in your tank. What is your setup? what is currently adding oxygen to your water?

How big is the tank? How big is the angel? What fish (if any besides the clown) have you had in there recently?

wondering if the fish had been fed shortly before transport, if so they could have been exsposed to there own waste in the bag for the drive.. what about the water temp during transport..did the water temp change drastically in the bag from the drive(i.e windows down while it is really cold outside). Not sure if this is a cause, just an idea from what may have happen...

sorry to hear about you having this problem and sorry about your BIG loss, Hope the trig makes it...Im a trig fanatic

aslo since you have such a long drive, you may wanna look into adding a water conditioner to the water during transport, it oxygenates as well as adds a stress coat...

To determine exactly what may have happened you need to give us a detailed account of your acclimation process. No one has asked, but, I believe that may be the answer. Also, you say parameters are perfect, however, you don't mention PH, SG and temp?

Temp 78 ammonia 0 sg- 1.023. PH- 8.1 No fish added recently, 1 hr drip acclimation.

Sorry did not have acc to a computer over the past 3 days. Only had that hour i was on but comp is up and running.

I got my water tested at my lps they said it is perfect in every way. Then it clicked, i introduced them into a tank that had 4 days worth of Metafix marine, as i was treating my clown who was acting a little funny. Im a dumb ass.... Thank you all sooooo much.

The trigger survived as i move him to my qt (not dt as i mentioned earlier) but now is not eating (bad sign for a trigger) Not sure what i should do to get him to eat. i've tried krill, mysis, soft pelets. Maybe a garlic solution?
