    amcarrig and other verizon users...

My wife and I got Samsung Omnias in January and love them. If you are looking for an iPhone competitor on Verizons network, this is definately the phone for you. The other choice for gadget junkies like me is to grab an iTouch... no phone capabilites but it has the rest of the iPone experience.

I am a blackberry storm user and i would say after comparing it to others it is hands down one of the best phones i have owned.

I would of gotten an Iphone however i have been with verizon since the mid 90's and just caint leave them.

THe Storm is slowly coming out with apps just like the Iphone so i am hoping to see these soon on it.

grrrr....I can't get a new phone until 2010! :( I'm sure that by then, there will a whole line of new phones to choose from, none as good as the iPhone :)

Do you have to pay monthly service fees to use the apps and internet on an iTouch?

No monthly fees:) You just pay the cost of an apps you purchase from the app store but there are tons of free apps and those that cost money tend to be a lot cheaper than apps for windows or palm devices.
Internet may be a little bit of a hitch. The iTouch has wifi so you can access the internet at home if you have a wireless network or when you are out someplace that has a free wireless hotspot (Stabucks, some McDonalds, some public libraries, some airports).

I got my wife one for Christmas and she loves it. It's even cooler than I expected. The one downside is that she has to fight the kids off of it.

Iphone is indeed a cool phone, but not worth the money IMO, too much hype about something that doesn't even have a full qwerty keyboard, they must have looked past that one.... I have the Samsung A867 Eternity and LOVE it, touchscreen, gps, nav, pictures, music, video, all the fun stuff. for 100 bucks you can't go wrong. I think it's there version of the Iphone. I have been trying to figure out what a smart phone really is, the only significant defferences are that you can add/remove programs on them... Still not worth the extra money IMO.

That's awesome. AT&T are the sole reason I had never even considered getting one. Best $200 I ever spent was getting out of their contract.

We should probably stop talking about unlocking iPhones since it's probably illegal to do so :)

The lack of a keyboard is a turn off for me with the iPhone and the price tag for an iTouch is kinda outrageous so I guess I'm stuck with my boring old Voyager for now :)

Just read that AT&T is supposedly going to start selling them with no contract with no discount on the price. So shouldn't have to worry about unlocking.

Iphone 3.0 software is suppose to add tons of features to developers plus the big thing for some people MMS.
