Here is something different

Just came accross this when doing a search on cloudy water (hmmm). This is different or is it just a spin off of ceramic or other bacteria media?

Never seen something like that, it's basically base rock that grows bacteria, same purpose for live rock.

 

From what I read wouldnt LR do the same thing? maybe someone else will chime in and let us know what they think

Doesn't seem like anything any other rock of the same size wouldn't do.
I wouldn't put it in my tank due to it containing volcanic rock. A lot of volcanic rock contains heavy metals which can leach out and poison a reef tank.
