Well we have only had our mixed reef 37g for 4 months and already we want more so thus starts our build. We have ordered a Perfecto 120g 4'x2'x2'. It's going to be a slow process because I plan to build the stand and canopy, and also add a basement sump, a separate refugium, and tie that to our existing 37g that we will move to our bedroom. With help from a fellow friend reefer and also another bud who runs one of the LFS's, we should be in good shape by xmas '12! Anyways just wanted to share.

You will be taking it slow, but it should give you something to work on for a while.

i want to go to a 120 already.

However im not going to for a while.

Im just going to plan for it. My new stand is going to be a flat top and deep enough to switch to a 120 in the future.

If you need any help lemme know... Im always up for projects.

As i was wiring my new ballast last night my wife came down...and as nice as she could manage to say it said " so whats the reef project of the day today"

    shes learning...

I started to mess around with google sketchup.... 2 hours later...

When i go to build my stand this is kind of what im going to shoot for with a granite or stone top. Possibly wood with a fancy routed edge...2" overhang

i really dont like the really fancy stands. I want people to focus on the stuff inside the tank.....not my not so perfect wood working skills.

Plus i cant do the fancy wood stuff...lol

Then when I upgrade to the 120. I want a rimless - and then a DIY stainless T5 retro kit suspended from the ceiling...

    Next fall....

The wifey asked if it was possible to go in wall route. It was going to go against the center wall in living room. On the opposite side of that wall is the kitchen that we will begin gutting and remodeling soon. Going to get back in touch with kitchen designer and see if this is possible.

Thx guys...it will be a few months before anythings much happens with this but at least I have the glass now! If we don't go in-wall with this, I will strongly consider doing a foam-type back panel over the back and crnrflow...we will see. I have plenty of time.
