From the looks of the stand it seems that your relying on the strength of screws to hold it up? Or did you add wood on the corners in between the 2x6 and 4x4?

Good eye! At first I didn't because I didn't put in to factor the bottom of the tank is recessed, so yes I did do exactly what you mentioned. I actually stooped filling the tank about an inch into the fill and blazed a trail up to Lowes before it got any heavier.

Spinner: I used new sand and scrubbed everything down, tank included.

I was going to say the same thing. Vertical structure support>>> Should be solid wood from the trim, straight down to the floor.

I like DBO's idea of just filling in the gap.

Someone on here... can't remember off hand who... actually cut recesses in their 4x4s so the 4x's were part of the structural support. Why do I keep thinking Perehedril... eh.

I will post pics of mine later tonight to illustrate what we are talking about better.

I get what you all are saying. My 75gal has the 4x4's all the way up to the stand. I've put 2x4's in the gaps on every 4x4 so I think I'm ok?

I have anothet issue. The back corner 4x4's are partially blocking my corner over flows. Can I move them in off the corner to make room for my bulkheads and plumbing to fit? Or take a dremel and grind off a good piece of the 4x4 and leave it where it is? I'm at a standstill til I get this figured out. no pun intended!

Everything looks great.. I do have a little concern I see that you put it in a Sun room it appears.. How much sun does that side of your house get..? keeping the temp down from the sun can be a challenge. Along with added natural light "may" spur a algae bloom..

    Just my $.02

Yes the 2x4's will add the necessary support. I made the same mistake when I built mine too.

Update: Finally have this thing tuned in! It's quieter than my 75 now! I ended up using the UV filters.. 114W and it makes a world of difference on the water clarity. I also battled a huge ich outbreak which my tank just pulled out of last week. All fish survived and I didn't even dose the tank. Thank Dr. G's medicated caviar food! Missed you guys, I'll post some pics up later.
