If I where you, I would "flip" that fish and make a profit or trade/sell it for something you need. Luna

I couldn't agree more. You will be able to get quite a bit on a trade in. You lucked out there. Just be careful in the transport. Hurt bad for a couple of hours.....Pfffffff. Yeah. Right. I read up on these a few months ago just for the heck of it. They have no business in a tank such as ours. Too many things can go wrong. So looks like you have a trip to make. And many corals and friendly fish to buy..........

$250 for that fish!! I've caught a bunch of those fish and I always cut the hook off cause I'm risking getting whacked by its fins. Extremely poisonous fish. Many people step on them because they like to hide in the rocks and have some of the most amazing camo ever. They blend right into rocks. I'd get rid of it personally.

EDIT: I was actually thinking more of the Scorpion fish, but Rockfish are equally as dangerous.

I can tell you if it is a reef stone fish then IT IS the most venoumous fish in the world and will kill you if you are stung....I am trying to find pics of that, however it looks more like a scorpion family to me.

The only reason I know what is the most deadly fish in the world was I thought I bought a purple rhino only to find out that I have a rare, but deadly Ambon scorpion....will most likely only kill kids and old people! Joy....is what I was told by some fish experts that I have contacted! The fish I have I was told should have never been removed from the ocean as it was so rare and deadly

But I think I have seen this fish picture somewhere while I was looking up mine. If I come across it I will let you know....

Just be carefull when you are in there..., no hand feeding (duh!) use long feeding sticks .I dont plan on getting rid of my fish...Keep one eye on him and one eye on what you are doing at all times. If he blends into rocks you might consider taking rocks out and getting some white PVC tubes for him to hide in so you can see him at all times, and buy some super thick gloves (but remember he can pierce those still). If that kid is yours however, might be a different consideration!

Still respect this fish...but I dont think it is a stonefish. Here are some pictures of stonefish
Stonefishes - Devilfishes - Stingfishes - unidentified scorpionfishes - Steinfische - Teufelsfische - Stingfische - Nicht identifizierte Skorpionfische

I think it is a longspine waspfish

I just browsed around and came up with Scorpaenichthys marmoratus or Cabezon. Check that one out.

Im pretty sure the ones I catch here in Florida look just like that. I basically do the same thing as Jupitersailfish does, cut the line and stay the heck away from those spines. :uhoh:
