    They have such a funny shape when out of the shell. It must take guts for them to leave the shell one would think.

    I like how they go over every inch of the new shell, making sure it just right.

    It sure must, especially when there are all kinds of other creatures around the corner that are waiting to eat you. He was out of his shell for quite a while too inspecting the new shell.

    Great pictures! I saw that happen one time in my tank - the hermit crab turned the new shell over and over and over and over before finally "moving in." I thought it was great!
