    Sorry for your loss :( I have a black hermit crab that at least doubles all my other crabs and probably 3-4 times the size of any of my snails and all he eats is left over food and sifts through the sand. Never lost a snail yet.. only been about 3 months though. My 4 halloweens are great too. The only problem i had what with my star fish. I had a halloween try a round with my star fish.. didnt turn out well for him though.. Star fish just sat on top of him for about 5 hours :p
