Twice now, I've noticed hermit crabs that I didn't buy lying dead on the sandbed before being consumed by bristleworms. There are two in my tank, and they've obviously been reproducing. How can I help their survival rate? Do I have to have little shells lying around for them to crawl into when they emerge into the world as hermit crabs?

Still need for more empty shells of various sizes for them to move into as they get larger.
