Well I want to know: what's the purpose of having hemrits in a refugium? I'd think that they'd be in the DT, but i hear that some people keep them in the fuge. Also do hermits eta chaeto algae? I'm planning on keeping some chaeto in my sump too

I think its mainly because they are having problems with them eating snails in the DT.

    Maybe to keep it cleaner?

I keep a small CUC in my 40 gallon sump/refugium. My reasoning for this is I also keep some LR in there along with macro algae. This small CUC keeps the rocks and sand clean from any detritus that might settle in the rocks and helps keep my nitrates down.

I don't really know, but I've been told not to keep crabs in the fuge.
