    So far I've only got,
    (4)Spiny Star Astraea
tanks going on 3 months and seems like it needs more life/action. I've got a form submitted to reefcleaners, but wanted some general advice. I read on some places that hermits will kill the snails. Others, that if I have empty shells, will not bother them as much.

It seems like people design their systems differently, either they let things fight it out or they are very cautious. What do people recommend that will stay small in a nano tank with tons of live rock? I looked at Nassarius. Do these become a nuisance eventually? Are limpets cool? Should I stay away from hermits?

I've never had a problem between the crabs or snails. I like to stock both inverts in my tank, they both do a fantasic job. Luna

    thanks

Ill be more helpfull now I got that out my system

totally agree with Luna on this, a combination of crabs and snails is ideal, IME
yes you can occasionally get snails evicted in order the crab gets a better home
but with spare shells in the system, hermits go for the easy option of the unoccupied shells rather than work to remove a resident (snail)

reef cleaners will sort you out no worries there
