:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:I got home today to find my Kole Tang dead. I knew there was serious aggresion with him and my coral beauty, but I did not think it was this bad. I was going to bring my tang back to my lfs this weekend because of the aggression and because I decided he was going to get too big in the long run. It was too late though. I tested the PH and it is at about 8.3-8.4 which im pretty sure is good.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

sorry to hear but didn't you have this fish in a 34g rsm. which is more like 30g with water displacement. hate to say it but the fish really didnt have anywhere to hide in small nano tank. plus the fish should never had been in a rsm130d.

:cry:I know.... He did not die at all because of the tank size.. the coral beauty killed him in cold blood..... I was going to bring him back to my lfs because in the end he would get too big and because of the aggresion. He was only in there for a few months.... by no means was it because of the tank size

ya but understand that in a small tank there really is nowhere to hide from a murderous bully. so yes it is tank size. also consider the angelfish to be territorial to this tank and may not take kindly to new additions from now on. just a thought

No, not true about the angelfish... he just had a problem with my Tang. My clowns were not being attacked at all. Also there were tons of hiding spots... I have a lot of live rock with holes and tunnels.. sometimes lethal aggresion just happens in this hobby.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Aggression is also more likely to happen when fish do not have enough space. Most of us have seen this type of thread many many times and have been doing this a long enough to know that sometimes general rules of husbandry like tank size and territory issues should be observed. A tang can not hide or escape aggression in that size of tank, it is just that black and white. Stress alone from constant contact with another fish will put a fish over the brink.

So sorry to hear - it always sucks when a fish is lost. But I have seen this with clowns and a sailfin - and it was a 75gal. I know people have big fish in small tanks - but like corilline says there are ton's of threads with this issue (including one from me)

sorry for your loss, but there is a reason why fishes have minimum gallon limit
