So this is my first saltwater tank, same old story. Crossin over from years of freshwater experience. Its a 46g bowfront tank and it has been going for about 2 months? maybe a little longer, waited for it to cycle with my LR and have been slowly adding livestock.. check out the pictures.. tell me what ya think. thanks!;D

apologize ahead of time for the bad pics, taken from my phone ha

what type of lights are you running? that can dictate what you can add. and also your params are solid?

with the combination of it being a new tank and your lights a tad on the weak side. you should not be looking at either sps or any sort of an anenome. IMO , rigtht now id be looking at softies. zoas, palys and such. you might be able to get a frogspawn or something in that genus.

yes its fine for the basics. another one of these rule of thumb things again, lol, is watts per gallon. for the majority of corals you need roughly 3 - 3.5 watts per gallon. with this you can keep lps and softies no problem. for sps , you can sometimes get away with keeping the easier ones up high. 5+ watts per gallon will allow you to keep everything. im no expert either , but this is the basics ive learned. lol.

    Welcome to 3reef.
Nice start and welcome also to the 46bowfront club :D
I'd say you'd need 6 T5s to keep whatever you want as far as corals go...will just be about placement (high, med or low in the tank).

    P.S.
You may want to start a thread about your tank in the Show off your tank section.
But great job starting off with pictures....we loooove pics
