Hey Everyone (My Reason for AFK)

Hey guys, some of you have messaged me, wondering where I am, what's going on, am I ok, etc..... First off, I appreciate your sentiments, they mean a lot to me. A lot has gone on, in my world, over the last few months. I haven't been able to get very much done as far as forum surfing or PC gaming, for that matter. Here are a few things I have had go on:
1. Major promotion at work. This one has been a time consuming nightmare that I really don't see changing very soon. I have only been with my company for 3.5 years and have fast-tracked to an upper management position of a call-center employing over 650 people. The only person in the building over me is our site director. With this promotion has come a lot of time consuming, tedious tasks.
2. My schooling. I'm still in school for my Psych Degree with specialization in Chemical Dependency. I will have my Bachelor's real soon.
3. My daughter. I have had a turn around where I am spending much more time with my littler girl. The event I am going to explain next has really spawned this.
4. My daughter's best friend's mother committed suicide by hanging a couple of months back. This little girl used to live with my family, for about 8 months, while her mom was in and out of jail and various rehab centers. This took an emotional toll on my house and really taught me how short life is and how precious my little girl is.
5. Fishing Season. Yep, it's fishing season. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a fly-fishing fool and this is my favorite time of year for it.

I have been a very busy man, as of late. Life is good but there really aren't enough hours in the week to accomplish everything I need to accomplish. With all of this being said, my tank is in beautiful shape. I had a battle with bryopsis not too long ago but used "tech-m" to kill it off and it really worked well. I had some bleaching in the process but lost no coral. I'll post pics of my tank soon.

Nice getting to know more about you as well, you're life sounds very full right now. Glad to hear the tank is going well, hopefully one day in the near future we can see some pics, right now though life is much more important.

I am sooooo glad my tank is almost completely automated. The only thing I have done is feed and a monthly water change.........

 

Where do you fly fish? I just did the Madison this weekend

 

I fish all over central Oregon. The crooked river and the metolius are my favs

 

I'm very glad to hear about all of the positive things going on for you Daniel. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's friend's mom. I'm sure it has really helped her to have a positive environment to spend a lot of her time.

Also very glad to see that your tank is still looking awesome despite all of the busy-ness you have going on. Welcome back and try to pop in now when you get a chance.

You will be so glad that you have taken this extra time to prioritize it for your daughter. They grow up so fast and soon enough, she will want to be spending time with friends and less with parents. Cherish these days and she will be forever influenced by it!
