    Hey Everyone,

I have kept fish for over 12 years, but finally decided to make the jump into saltwater. I was always scared about the complexities that comes with saltwater and there was nowhere around me that sold saltwater fish or supplies, but just a few weeks ago we got a new lfs that is mostly saltwater, so I decided to give it a try.

I currently have a 75 gallon tank that has been up for several weeks, with about 150 lbs of lace rock, and 100 lbs of sand. I am still in the initial stages, but everything has gone perfectly so far. All parameters have been perfect so far.

It has had three damsel fish in it now, but this week hoping to pull them out and start with fish that I really want, and add some live rock to seed my existing rock and sand.

I am currently a student at Utah State, and married just over a year, so funds are limited. So I really like the DIY side of the hobby. That is a little about me and my current setup.

I just want to say thanks you for the advice that I have already gained from this website, and for the info that I will gain in the future.

This is my tank so far. The water is really clear, it just looks cloudy due to the glare of the window on the camera.

I was expecting that from the beginning. I am not sold on how the rock is so far, planning on trying some different rock arrangements. Might leave some of the rock out all together. The tank was cloudy when I put the rocks in there, so didn't really see it till the tank cleared. I decided on putting the damsels in there because I had already decided to pull the rock out.

So I got the damsels out, and yes I had to remove all of my rock. But in doing so I got to try some different rock arrangements and decided to pull out the biggest rock, and then added some live rock to seed the rest that I got from the lfs. I then got me a yellow tang.

What do you think so far?
