Hey from Red Stick...

which is really just the silly English name for Baton Rouge, LA.
I'm a bit ashamed to say that I've been lurking for some time now, but haven't actually registered (and obviously never posted). I've really taken the advice to go slow and research everything to heart.

I visited one of my friends a few years ago, and she had a 55g bowfront SPS reef setup. This was my first encounter with a non-commercial tank, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. So, what did I do? Started looking for tanks. haha. I told everyone about it. When birthday time came around, I got an old, 75g freshwater tank as a present. Someone was getting rid of it and was nice enough to donate it to my cause.

Having checked off my first item on the Saltwater Aquarium checklist. I was well on my way. Next on the list.... rocks... haha. Annnnh, wrong answer. When I went to the LFS, the guy kinda chuckled at me and told me to get familiar with my hobby before I went head-first into the pool. So, here I am... 18 months later, still researching. haha. Now, there's the definition of going slow!

With that, I'll say hello... and join the rest of the addicted, wonderful people of the saltwater community.
