So sorry to take up space, but I am just expressing myself I guess. My grandma, whom I was very close to, passed away a few days ago at my house. She was so sweet and generous, and would always put her self interests last. She was one of the most encouraging people I know. It has been so hard and I have been very depressed. With the help of my family, and an oblong white pill :) I have gotten my spirits up. I guess i just realized that she is with God now and isn't suffering anymore. I know many of you aren't religious or don't agree with my religion, and I don't mean to offend you, but I believe God is really helping me through this. Alright, I know this thread is pretty pointless, but I made it to encourage anyone who is going through a rough time to stay strong, and if you are religious, stay faithful. Good things will come. I hope eveyone is having a great day and that we can all stay optimistic no matter what happens.

This is a picture of me holding my grandmas hand in her last minutes of life. :) I know most people wouldn't put a smiley there but it just reminds me of all of the great times I spent with her. At this point she was completely unresponsive, but for some reason held on to my finger firmly. She only weighed 70 pounds when she died, poor little thing. I love her so much and am leaving tomorrow to go to Nebraska for her memorial. She was a fighter. Stay strong everyone.

Dude... The love you feel for your grandma will never die. Just keep her in your memories and you'll notice she'll always be with you and encourage you.

I'm sorry about your loss. I'm happy about your newly found peace.

    Patrick,
I'm so sorry for your loss :(
At least you were able to spend that precious time with her before she passed, I'm sure you will treasure that time forever. I did not get that time with my own grandmother or my mom who I lost back in December and can tell you that while I have made peace with it there will always be an empty spot in my heart because of it.

I don't take offense to your religious beliefs at all, while I don't consider myself a religious person my issue is with "organized religion" rather than a belief or disbelief in God and will therefore never hold anyone else's beliefs against them.

    Im happy that your happy.

Its is cruel of nature, the aging and dying process, but i guess in the words of Elton John, "Its the circle of Life"

Altho im not religious, i am not offended by religion nor do i disbelieve it, and if this is what gives you your hope, then i am pleased!
(i guess that makes me agnostic)

    Patrick,

Remember, the people that die in our lives are never truly dead if they live on in our memories...

...And their recipes are in our kitchens.

I am glad this thread is still going. I posted a "link" to a man singing the fourth and fifth verses to the Star Spangled Banner and on that link God was brought up and the mods censored it. I feel your loss. Grandparents can have a very special place in ones life. I will pray the Father for you to give comfort and peace.
