    Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I found the site last night while cruising around looking for a simple DIY overflow. FOUND IT, WOOHOO! I thnk we make things to hard alot of the time and tend to overthink things. The PVC overflow here is very simple and seems to be reliabel from the 24 page thread, can't wait to try it myself. DIY is great. I've been hanging out on Reef Central and learned alot there.
    I've had a 55 set up for about a year which I got from my brother. He was constantly having trouble with hair algae and could never get it figured out so he gave me the tank along with huge dead piece of staghorn corral, 2 large conch shells and 3 smaller ones. Since I set it up it's been a continual learning experience, so many opinions and different ways of doing the same things. I had to move the tank to the family room downstairs so I thought it woul dbe a great time to make some needed changes. I'm currently setting up a sump/refugium and didn't want to spend a fortune on a manufactured overflow. Right now the only fish I have is an aggressive yellow tailed blue damsel. My other fish, green chromas and 3 other damsels, all died, unsure why at this point. I tend to blame the survivor because he was always chasing aeverything else. I've got 5 snails and 6 hermit crabs running around as well. I'm using a SSB in the tank but will use a DSB in the refugium along with some macro algae and live rock. I will also place some live rock in the tank itself.
    Great site, I'll be spending a fair amount of time here.
