    hey my name is josh and well we just bought a 75 gal tank and new to the whole fish thing so just found this site and lookin for advice....i will post in other section....we are wanting to do cichlids...

    its cool to breed them, the babies live in the parents mouth. after they out grow the parents mouth, when scared some babies will swim right in to the parents face.

    ok so i am wanting to do african cichilids and all natural look i have posted in the freshwater section but what i have done is i used pea gravel for base then river rock 150 lbs of it all for under 10 bucks:) so now i am working on getting alot for rocks another items to put in tank. any ideas there? i have the under gravel filters and 2 70 gal filters and thats it so far what else do i need?

    You want to get rid of the undergravel filters. What are the other filters you have? A good canister would be suggested. Or use a sump.

    2 aqua clear 70's i was told that if i hook up those filters to my under gravel filters that i will reduce upkeep on it.

    My experience with undergravels is that they trap detritus and in the long run reduce water quality.

    I would either use a good canister filter (clean regularly), and maybe add a powerhead at one end of the tank to aid with water movement. Your other option would be to use a sump / wet dry filter. Then you could keep your heater misc. equipment in the sump.
