Out of curiosity, what part of OC are you in? I spent a while living in Aliso and working in Irvine. Sure do miss the weather :)

    Also, welcome!

haha talk about a small world. And irvine/trabuco is really close to me. Sadly my lfs is petsmart :( as i have no idea where any local fish stores are here in irvine. There's only one actual real fish store that i know of which is in Huntington Beach and that's where i got my puffer, but i forget the name. Any idea if pacific reef is still around and where it is? i may stop in sometime

Piece of the Reef is in Irvine, they are hit or miss. Some great stuff at amazing prices, sometimes a little sketchy. They are RIGHT near the airport.

The store I always shopped at is in Orange off Tustin St. From Irvine take the 5 to 55, get off on Katella and turn left, then catch a right on Tustin St. Should be down on the left less then a mile up tucked into a shopping mall.

Jeffs Exotic Fish is also halfway decent. They are also on Tustin St in the shopping center at the corner of Collins.

Im scheduled to be back in the area for work/fun in August, I gotta hit them up and maybe do some shipping.

Oh...and hit up the YardHouse in the Spectrum

If you need rock, hands down the cheapest place is going to be OceanPro Aquatics. They are a wholesaler who deals with the public out in Chino. Hell of a nasty drive but WELL worth it.

i would only need about 50 or so pounds for my new tank, the drive may not be worth it for that little of rock.

At the 6-8$ local retail, you could easily wind up saving 50%+...It just sucks having to deal with the inland empire :p
