ok so i just go the money and i am about to buy my rock and sand.

but the thing is that i wanted to buy them both from the same place (reefcleaners). But they dont seem to have substrate anymore. I really love their rock though.

i also got recommended macro rocks for the substrate but i really dont like their rock much.

i could order one from one and the other one from the other but then i would have to pay shipping twice.

what do you guys think i should do?

also, i tried that sand calculator thing and i got confused lol... i plugged in the numbers but it gave me a ridiculous amount of sand.. ( im sure i dont need that much..)

my tank is 20x10x12, a standard 10G. can anyone help me with the calculations please.. hehe i feel kinda dumb right now. i wanted a 3-4 inch sand bed. ( more or less..).

ps... what about salt? any websites that might sell them cheap? ( possibly the 3 toguether??)

    Hi Elweshomayor

It says 38lb of sand for a bed 4 inches deep in a tank measuring 20 x 10
but remember you will want put rocks down 1st
so I would budget for a 2 - 3 inch sand bed and that will give you closer to 4 inch once you allow for space rock takes up

location to purchase goods, sorry I have no idea for where you are

oh, ok cool thanks.. and i mean to buy them online.. i just didnt want to buy rocks from one place, and sand from the other as this would mean me paying twice the shipping.

I bought there sand and love it so I wouldnt worry too much... I would just get 30lbs so you have more options for your scape and the extra pieces you can crush into rubble and use it for a fuge maybe

    In my 29g I have 37 lbs of rock. So for a 10g I would go with 15 - 22 lbs.
