Glad you like them. I needed lights fast, and they fit the bill.
I'd rather have the dimmable ones now however, to fine tune the blue/white ratio.

As far as your set up- it was a compliment

    Todd-
Same story here with the lights. They were cheap at the beginning of the LED reef lighting craze. Still well over 200 bucks on Amazon but i figured id gamble and give them a try. They are 3 watt LEDs run at 2 Watts to save the LED light color from changing Kelvin rating with hotter temperatures. I thought it sounded like a good idea and at one point that 110 watt LED box replaced my 250 watt metal halide, power compact fixture. Now i use the LED box over my breeder planted tank connected through the wall to the pond. Ive never seen better macro algae growth than under that light, its amazing.

Thanks for the compliments. Im trying to work on ideas for a smaller shark species that should be more available than the brown-banded bamboo which gets too big for most mass production tanks, by far. If anyone has any ideas on a smaller but less common shark species let me know. Im thinking of adding another small group to the pond.

    Red-
That is one of the Naso genus. But not what they call the Naso Tang. Its scientific name is Naso vlamingi. So its the Vlamingi unicorn tang. It doesnt get the long thin unicorn nose like Naso unicornis. But they call it the big nose unicorn, because it gets a larger broader hump above its mouth at eye level. In my opinion it also becomes much more attractive than anyother big tang. It can reach 24" and at the size it is now about 10"-12" it starts to develop beautiful vibrant blues and golds across the forehead and lateral line. Google Image search for "mature" or "adult vlamingi tang" and youll see how beautiful hes gonna get.

Do you have a day job? Or do you work in a marine field?

I guess what I'm asking is, is this still a hobby or have you taken it to being a career?

Can't you tell from my floating froggy pool thermometer that its still a hobby?? LOL

Its at a point now where with the 500 gals of macro algae and LR tanks with other spawning fish and live foods breeding, that everything is very stable and hands-free.
The skimmer i use is a beast, precision marine bullet XL 4 with blue line 100 hd pump. It eliminates excess organics within 24 hours of a heavy feeding for the sharks and finds a static level of low foam production. Thats how you know your skimmer is appropriately sized. It shouldnt be producing skimmate 24/7.

That and i do 300-400 gallon WCs as needed. All the hard work has been done long ago.

The videos are all impressive from a bystander's point of view - it's the 350 gallon WC that really blows my mind! Great set up Griseum!
