    awesome system gris!

something very different and i really like it. would you by any chance be able to put up an official stock list of the large system? just out of curiosity. i believe i even see an emperor angel in there somewhere. if so thats insanely cool.

it would be awesome if you could fashion a sort of side wall you can see into the tank with. you have so many beautiful fish in there but you cant really see them to all their beautiful glory just from the top. you should try something like that out it would be awesome.

    Ok
As for a stocklist, off the top of my head, I'll give it a shot undoubtedly missing something. And I need to add to this list as well. More pairs so I hopefully get something cool and new to spawn in there!

    Bony Fish

    2x Naso Vlamingi - Vlamingi Tangs - 10"-12"
    2x Zebrasoma flavescens - Yellow Tangs - 4"-5"
2x Myripristis sp. - Big Eye Black Bar Soldierfish - 4"-6"
    1x Zebrasoma scopas - Scopas Tang - 5"
1x Zebrasoma desjardini - Red Sea Sailfin Tang - 8"
    1x Pomacanthus imperator - Emperor Angel - 8"
    1x Pomacanthus maculosis - African Maculosus Angel - 6"
    1x Zanclus canescens/cornulus - Moorish Idol - 4" - Banner 6"-9" !!!
1x Melichthys indicus - Red Sea Indian Trigger aka Durgeon - 6"
    1x Anyperodon leucogrammicus - (Rare) Mimic Grouper - 12"
    1x Epinephelus ongus - Ongus Grouper - 6"
    1x Dascyllus trimaculatus - (Very Old, near 20yrs) Domino Damsel - 5"-6" !!

    Cartilaginous Fish

    5x Chiloscyllium griseum - Gray Bamboo Shark - 18"-21"
    2x Chiloscyllium plagiosum - White-Spotted Bamboo Shark - 22"

That's all the players in the show. Might be missing one or two Bony fish. Im adding my Purple tang that's in a Macro tank on the system into the pond any day now.

I've flirted with the idea but once I cut the two liners there's no turning back. LOL!. Same goes for installing bulkheads. Scares the heck outta me

I must ask, why the milk crates? Just for the simplicity? Such a cool system, either way.

it would also be awesome if you invested in more live rock to sort of build it up to the surface so it looks like an actual reef. would be pretty sweet. also offers the livestock a much more natural hide out. however the milk crates are pretty genius

The pond was intentionally built for sharks and rays. Most shark deaths happen from secondary bacterial infections. Sharp edged live rock and tumbling rock are major contributors to this. So to allow for hiding and keep it shark-safe I thought of crates made from food grade plastics.

The other reason for no LR piles is because of my fear that the rock will puncture the EPDM pond liners. So all LR is in seperate tanks throughout the system.

I am currently looking for fake coral inserts but they are insanely expensive. Otherwise I'm going to buy dry rock and fasten it around the crates yet keep it off the liner. This I hope will make the crates look like caves. I'm flirting with different ideas.

Very impressive. I have a question tho, your title says "breeding lagoon", is this the intent?

Yes I've been growing up five gray bamboo sharks to eventually start breeding them. As well as various mated pairs of reef fish throughout the system.

    Just some updates:

I was able to acquire two new broodstock pairs of 2 species of sub-adult to adult sharks.

1: Male Brown Banded Bamboo 26-28 inches (Big Lenny)
2: Female Brown Banded 24-25 inches (Lenny's Babe)
3: Male Coral Cat Shark 24 inches (Coral)
4: Female Coral Cat Shark 15-16 inches (Corals future partner after a lil growth)

Heres a recent video: ( I still don't know how to embed but heres the link to the video on my C Griseum Youtube channel) If a mod could embed that would be fantastic Thanks!

Hope you enjoy and if you do please like the video! If I get more views and likes Ill feel better about uploading more videos about the filtration and the 500+ gallons of LR and Macro Algae tanks with reef fish pairs that are in-line with the rest of the system.
    Enjoy!
