I've been trolling the forums for a very long time now (since 2003) but really never post. Just read a lot of good stuff from all of you :)

I have a 100g reef tank that I just started back up again. I have been in the hobby for about 10 years but during the last 4 years, I got so busy with my job and family that I decided to give it up for a little bit.

Well, i'm on my way back into the hobby in a big way. It's been about 2 months now since I got the tank and everything has been going great.

My current configuration is 100g Reef Tank with a 20g sump running an Iwaki 40 for recirculation and 2 Vortex MP-40's with backup battery for in tank flow. I'm running my old AquaC EV-120 protien skimmer which is working well for me along with a LifeReef LR-1 Calcium reactor controlled by a Milwaukee 212 PH Probe/Controller. I also have 2 TLF reactors, one running Seachem Phosguard and activated carbon on the other all hooked in series using a MaxiJet 1000 powerhead which works really well. For lighting I have a 36 & 96 watt PC for dusk dawn, CurrentUSA moonlights for darkness and 2x 250MH running 14K Hamiltons at the moment as the main light. The whole system is controlled by an Aquadyne Octopus 3000 which enable me to monitor PH, Conductivity, Temperature and Redox. Temperature control is kept at 77deg +/- 1 degree spread currently and using a 300watt heater in sump and a 1/4 HP Chiller. I will dose Ozone once in a while but since I started using my UV Sterilizer, I found no need to do that and the water quality has been exceptional. I currently use real ocean water from the Catalina Water Company here in California exclusively (I hate mixing salt :). I currently top off water using Kolster-Il unit which works extremely well and providers with significant amounts of GPD.

As far as stocking the tank currently, I have 100 lbs of live sand, 150 lbs of Live Fiji Rock, 2x Yellow Tangs, 2x Mated Ocillaris, 1 Kole Yellow Eye Tang, 2x Blue/Green Chromis, 2x Mated Skunk Cleaner Shrimps, 5x Turbo Snails, and 10x Nassarius Snails. I have started to introduce corals to the tank and now have a Torch Coral and Green Mushrooms that are doing extremely well.

Well, sorry for such a long introduction but being a member since 2003, I should finally introduce myself.

p.s. Thanks for having such a great forum.
